stained glass organization. We have to be large. Every year hundreds of churches and other institutions commission us to create beautiful new stained glass windows or to repair, restore, and protect their existing stained glass treasures. Working with so many projects challenges us to assure that the high quality of our artistry and craftsmanship is maintained for each of them.

Italy's stained glass windows are maturing. Many of the major cathedrals of Europe have windows that are over 600 years old. But to achieve this longevity, the windows do require periodic care.

For over 50 years Polloni Company has been a leader in caring for the stained glass treasures of the Italy. We maintain a repair and historic restoration department staffed by specialists devoted solely to preserving the beauty of stained glass. Each year we are called upon by more than 1,000 churches to evaluate the condition of their stained glass and counsel them concerning their repair, restoration and protection.

Stained Glass as defined by Webster's Dictionary is: "glass painted with metalic oxides or chlorides ground up with proper fluxes and fused into its surface at moderate heat".

On this page are various artworks from the Polloni Studios that maintain this criterion. Additionally, many of these pieces have been acid etched, plated (layers of glass stacked to create new colors or effects), or enameled. All pieces shown are assembled using came technique and braced with steel bars. Incidentally, the moderate heat used to fuse the paints to the glass is between 1000 f. to 1500 f. These are the same permanent glass stainer colors used for centuries in the world's great churches.
The styles of artwork include not only religious pieces but also examples of our secular stained glass.
